The problem
Small businesses juggle bookings by phone, paper and spreadsheets, which leads to double bookings and messy staff schedules.
What we built
TimeSlot is a booking system for a small business and its customers, built for a real client as our fourth-year capstone.
- Organizations set up their services and staff, manage employee schedules and see bookings update in real time.
- Customers book, track and change appointments from a shared calendar, on any device.
- Sign-in with Google, and light and dark themes.
My part
I led quality assurance for the team of four.
- Set up GitHub Actions workflows that run the tests and ESLint on every push.
- Wrote unit tests with Jest and React Testing Library, and tested the app and tracked down issues with the team.
- Built the first version of the employee schedule view.
Stack
React with SCSS on the front end, Supabase for the database and authentication, Google sign-in, and Jest and React Testing Library for tests.
